From your words to the grain
Add a name, a date, a line of handwriting, or a monogram in the personalisation field on any eligible product page. Keep it under the character limit so it engraves crisply on the lid.
Within 24 hours of your order, we email a digital engraving proof showing your exact message, font and placement. Reply 'approve' or request changes — nothing is cut until you're happy.
Your message is laser-engraved into the wood — the same medium used to sign museum pieces — then hand-finished with natural oil. Every engraving catches the grain a little differently, which makes each one unique.
After a final inspection, your piece is packed gift-ready with linen ribbon, a wax seal and a handwritten note, and handed to the courier.

What engraves beautifully
Length
Keep engraving under the character limit shown on each product (most boxes allow 60–120 characters). Long quotations are better placed inside the lid or around the base.
Placement
- Lid centre — the classic, most legible position.
- Interior of the lid — more private, lovely for long messages.
- Base edge / monogram — discreet, perfect for initials (max 3 characters).
Capitalisation
ALL CAPS reads most formally, Title Case reads most warmly, and script looks best in Title Case. We'll show all three options in your proof at no charge.
Special characters
Accented letters, ampersands and dates all engrave cleanly. Emojis, photos or artwork require a custom consultation — just write to us at care@vorqena.com.
